Bollywood Releases to Look Forward to in 2019

Happy New Year to all the Bollywood freaks as we move into 2019. The year 2018 remained a mixed bag for Bollywood with highly anticipated films such as Thugs of Hindostan and Zero failing to impress the audience, resulting in heavy financial losses to the makers. On the other hand, small budget films such as Badhaai Ho and Stree ruled the box office with strong content. Seeing the shift of audience towards content-backed cinema, Bollywood makers are coming with the unique storyline to entertain the moviegoers in 2019. Let’s check some of them which are up for release in 2019.

Uri: The Surgical Strike

Paying tribute to the bravado shown by the Indian soldiers in decimating the terror camps in Pakistan in response to the latter’s firing on the Uri Camp, Uri: The Surgical Strike is one awaited movie that every patriot would love to experience time and again. Helmed by director Aditya Dhar, the film has the Sanju actors Paresh Rawal and Vicky Kaushal in pivotal roles. One can expect this jodi to produce another crackerjack of a film with this venture.

The Accidental Prime Minister

The film is loosely based on the struggles and inhibitions of the former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during the UPA reign from 2004-2014. With a stellar cast of Anupam Kher and Akshaye Khanna playing Manmohan Singh and Sanjay Baru, respectively, the Vijay Ratnakar Gutte-directed film would most likely give a close insight of how the former PM failed to deliver which he could have done had been allowed to work freely.

Mission Mangal

The star-studded Mission Mangal comprising Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Tapsee Pannu, and Sonakshi Sinha is likely to show the journey to Mars. The Jagan Shakti-directed film is going to further add to Akshay’s growing reputation of enacting patriotic roles.

Tanaji-The Unsung Warrior

The shooting of the Om Raut-directed film Tanaji-The Unsung Warrior is almost over. All goes well, the movie could well be a Diwali gift you would like to be presented in theatres near you. Showcasing the life of the Maratha Warrior Tanaji Malasure, the film would see Ajay Devgn playing the titular role with his Omkara co-actor Saif Ali Khan playing the antagonist in the movie.

Brahmaastra

The film titled Brahmaastra stars the rumored lovebirds of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. Adding to the cast is the Shehenshah of Bollywood Amitabh Bachchan in this Dharma Productions venture. All this makes the Ayan Mukherjee-directed film an exciting watch for the moviegoers.
