5 Superhit Bollywood Movies Based on Real Stories

Generally, most of the Bollywood movies are based on the imaginary stories and have nothing to do the real world and real-life problems. Such stories are created to make people smile and forget their worries. At times, we criticize such movies as well because there is no meaningful message in the movies, rather they are full of illogical situations and incidents which you can’t relate to. But, many times this glamour based industry come up with such bold stories and topics that touches your heart and leaves you speechless. Let’s take a look at some of the Bollywood movies, which left us speechless and were based on real stories and real people.

Bhagh Milkha Bhagh: This is one of the greatest Bollywood movies based on the real story of ‘Flying Sikh’ Milkha Singh. The story of the movie is all about his struggle and how he overcomes all obstacles in life and become an Indian ideal and one of the most iconic athletes in India. The movie was released in 2013 and become the talk of the nation and liked by critics and audience too. It managed to get the best reviews from the critics for good narration of the story. The whole story of the movie revolved around Milkha Singh, his struggle in life and as a sports person and how he managed to win Gold Medal in Olympics. Farhan Akhtar played the role of Milkha Singh and did great justice with the role with his unmatched acting skills.

Mary Kom: This is another movie based on the real-life incidents of boxing champion Mary Kom. The lead role of Mary Kom was played by Priyanka Chopra. The movie was directed by Omung Kumar and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The movie got released in 2014. The movie was based on the life of boxing champion Mary Kom, how she encounters a renowned coach and the way she managed to convinces him to train her. The movie was loved by the audience and won many film awards in different categories.

Dangal: This movie is one of the blockbusters of Bollywood. The movie is based on the real story of Geeta Phogat who is Indian wrestler. This sport’s biographical movie was released in 2017. This story of the movie is all about the life of Geeta Phogat and her sister Babita Phogat and the struggle and dedication of her father, Mahavir Phogat, who left no stone unturned to make his daughters world-class wrestlers. In the movie, the role of Mahavir Phogat played by Amir Khan. The film was a big hit and won many awards as well in different categories.

Neerja: Neerja movie is based on the story of a flight attendant, who boards Pan Am flight 73 in 1986 and the flight was hijacked by the terrorists. The movie showed how Neerja managed to save to life of passengers by sacrificing her own life. The movie was directed by Ram Madhvani and released in 2016. The lead role was played by Sonam Kapoor and won the award for her role too. The movie was a hit and touched the heart of everyone who watched the movie.

Guru: The movie was about a simple but ambitious villager. The movie was based on the real story of Dhirubhai Ambani and his endless efforts to build his business. The movie got released in 2007 and the lead roles were played by Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai. The story is all about how Dhirubhai Ambani managed to become the biggest business tycoon in the country and a businessman who founded the biggest and most successful companies in the world. The film was directed by Mani Ratnam. The film received various awards in different categories and got best reviews from critics as well.
